The Magellan

Welcome to The Magellan! A look into what could be your future!!

You are intrigued as to what might be in the spaceship and you make your way over there with your friends. You and three others will make your way onto the loading dock before making your way into the ship’s interior. As soon as your group walks through the doors, the close abruptly and you are stuck! The only way out of the ship is to get to the end.

You and your group are presented with the captain of the ship on a television who tells you what has happened on the ship! It turns out that a virus has been dropped in the spaceship and caused many of the passengers to turn into mutants. The goal is to avoid them at all costs.

The group is presented with many tasks throughout the game. The Magellan is a rendition of an escape room, but there are multiple rooms and they are easier to accomplish. You will also be provided with help from passengers that know the ship. The first step is to set the team captain. The team captain will be the one who has the ability to open the doors with the keycards that will be provided after accomplishing a puzzle.

After establishing the team captain, he/she will be provided with a map of the ship so the group can track how far they have gone and how close they are to finishing. Three buttons will appear: one green, one yellow, and one red. Each of these buttons will provide the group with their first passenger acquaintance, but only one can be chosen and there can be no changing.

After receiving their first addition, the game begins. The new player will provide the team with a riddle that they will have to solve in order to get to the next room. After accomplishing this task, the group will be led to the kitchen where they will be introduced to the chef and a new puzzle. This puzzle, and any after, will have both an easy and a hard option. The easy option will take the group to the next room where they can pick up more passengers for help. The hard option will allow them to skip rooms but they will miss the opportunity to pick up others that could be beneficial to their game.

Throughout the course of the game, the group will have to work together to accomplish the puzzle and retrieve the key cards. When reaching the end of the game, the group of four that started out will pile into their own space shuttle as a way to exit the park. The space shuttle is actually a golf cart that drives the group back to the beginning of the spaceship. Providing scenic views on the ride will help the players feel as if they are actually experiencing space. The group then has the option to go through the game again as the puzzles change each game to give every group their own experience.
